New Optimist Club to charter in Antelope Valley

More than 25 Antelope Valley residents and business people have signed in and joined the ranks of Optimist International. The group met Tuesday night on February 9, 2010 at Camille's Sidewalk Cafe in Lancaster, CA  to charter their new club and elect their first board of Officers who will take direction of the group and their activities aimed at Bringing out the Best in Kids.

After a few meetings to recruit members, the Club has now enough volunteers to form its own club of Optimist International and join approximately 114,000 other members and more than 3,500 clubs from many different countries. The Optimists help over 6 million young people every year with more than 65,000 community projects.

The Antelope Valley Optimist Club welcomes anyone who wishes to attend or join as a new member, to meet them at the Hilton Garden Inn Hotel, American Grille Restaurant, 1309 Rancho Vista Blvd in Palmdale on the 1st and 3rd Tuesdays of the month at 5:15 PM.  The Hilton Garden Inn is located on Restaurant Row right behind the Antelope Valley Mall behind Dillard's Dept Store.
