About Our Club Antelope Valley Optimist Club is a membership organization of neighbors, colleagues, and freinds who meet regularly to serve the youth of our world. We currently have over 30 members of all ages, all walks of life, and all parts of the Antelope Valley. What We Do Optimist clubs bring out the best in kids wherever our clubs are located. Our club is focused on the needs of youth in the Antelope Valley and will develop localized programs to deal with those needs. Becoming one of us, part of our team, ensures that you can join in identifying needs and and in designing the programs to meet them. Programs Our first program supports children who want to experiment with the art and science of Robotics. It was carried from idea to fruition when one of our members described the need for a group of children she teaches/mentors for an organizational structure that would help them carry out their dream of participating in the many robotic competitions held in California and beyond. Scholarships for budding musicians, help for the family of a youngster with a demanding medical challenge, academic and athletic programs to broaden opportunities for all children - these are among the new programs that will be available sooner and ever more effectively when you join the rest of us volunteers. Affiliation Our club is affiliated with Optimist International and part of Zone 3, Pacific Southwest District. |
